 Rev. George Frederick Hardman Foxton (brother) b.1825
William Foxton was born about 1834. He married Ellen. He attended Oxford and joined the English Civil Service in India. He retired in 1887. Following is from a clipping:

Mr William Foxton on Friday, his 65th year was formerly a Government official in India, where he had a varied career as a public servant.  His last post was that of assistant collector of patt revenue in Lind. Retired in 1887.            

Information on wife and children from LDS FHS microfilm on county records Lancashire, England. Birth dates for children are actually christening dates.

William and Ellen had four children:-

  • Samuel Henry Foxton, born in 1865

  • John William Foxton, born in 1867

  • Eliza Jane Foxton, born in 1870

  • Frederick George Foxton, born in 1874  

It is unknown whether the family lived in India with their father, but presumably they did.
